For one: Cranston reveals that, in a preliminary dinner with Gilligan when the creator first pitched the movie to the actor, Gilligan is 100% certain that Walter White died at the end of the original series (the glee in which Cranston asks "Is Walter White not really dead?" is palpable), so we can all put that conspiracy theory to bed. But, lowkey, I'm mostly recommending this clip for what happens within, like, the first 20 seconds. And yes, it's endlessly fascinating, a testament to creative ingenuity, and a reminder of how important makeup and hair is to the shows and movies you watch. I think that’s probably the next time we’ll see Cranston in this series, but who knows when that will happen.Yes, the clip does feature the necessary information required to understand how they transformed Cranston into Heisenberg for less than a day of shooting. I think there’s a strong chance, with the success of El Camino, that Gilligan revisits this world again to tell the story of Skyler and Walt, Jr. ![]() I’m guessing we’ll probably see Walter White in Better Call Saul at some point in the future. Will it be the final time we see Cranston’s classic character? Walter White is in El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie, but it’s a quick appearance. It would have shown Jesse was truly reclaiming his life and taking responsibility for everything that happened to him.īut, again, Breaking Bad is Walter White, so he had to be in the movie. Instead, I think it could have been more of a statement for Vince Gilligan to leave White out of this movie altogether. This movie is Jesse’s story, though, and I don’t know necessarily if White’s appearance added much to the overall film. It was great to see Paul and Cranston together again. I don’t know how much I truly enjoyed White’s cameo, though. Like, he’s referring to the meth cooking as something special, which is super sad to me, if I’m reading the moment correctly. Interestingly, Walt, then, says that Jesse is really lucky that he didn’t have to wait his whole life to do something special. Walt forgets Jesse actually graduated high school. Then, the conversation gets even weirder. He could have gotten out of this situation long ago, before everything went pear-shaped, as they say. It’s a weird scene looking this far back, but it does open the viewers’ eyes to what could have been for Jesse. Then, the scene shifts to Jesse, and Walt tries to get him to go to college to study business or marketing. He also shares his worries about how long it will take to sell off the batch. In the scene, Walt is coughing a lot, and he even has a coughing attack, which draws a lot of attention. After their cook in the desert, Walt and Jesse stay at a hotel, and then they go to the Owl Cafe to eat. The scene with Jesse and Walt is a flashback, as well, and it takes fans way back to the very first season. In the middle, there are several flashbacks with Jesse disposing of a body with Todd, played by Jesse Plemons. We see Jesse with Mike, Jonathan Banks, at the beginning of the film. Throughout the movie, there are many flashbacks. I didn’t think so, but I was surprised the appearance wasn’t until close to the end of the film. Did we really think they would leave Walter White out of this one? Okay, of course, Bryan Cranston makes a cameo appearance in the Netflix original movie.
